{"product_id":"nothung-by-anselm-kiefer-1973-poster","title":"Nothung by Anselm Kiefer (1973) – Poster","description":"A broken sword lies half-buried in a field of ash and earth, its blade split like the title Nothung suggests, a blade from the old myths broken by its owner’s own hand. The surface is thick with lead and ochre, the paint scraped and layered until the canvas seems to bear the weight of time itself.\n\nDeep umber and raw sienna dominate, the palette pressed into service as if the earth itself were the medium. The composition is sparse, almost brutal in its refusal to soften the edges. Charred strokes break across the surface, the texture rough, the light dim and directional, as though the scene is lit by a single dying ember.\n\nKiefer reaches into the wreckage of legend and the scarred history of post-war Germany, turning the sword of the Nibelungenlied into a relic of modern ruin. Nothung is not just a broken blade but a broken narrative, a refusal to let the past stay buried. The work lingers because it asks more than it answers, its silence louder than any story.\n\nBring this Nothung art print by Anselm Kiefer into a space where bold wall art meets quiet contemplation. A poster for those who see history as texture, not just text.","brand":"Wall Deco","offers":[{"title":"45x60 cm \/ 18x24″","offer_id":52973713260861,"sku":"771c72c6-b081-41c5-b392-428b0cc365ec","price":188.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true},{"title":"75x100 cm \/ 30x40″","offer_id":52973713293629,"sku":"5ceb1c75-5b4b-4d75-896f-2e189080df69","price":259.0,"currency_code":"CAD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1017\/5148\/8829\/files\/1aa40386-9aeb-47f6-ab6c-c8702325a6c5.webp?v=1788538242","url":"https:\/\/walldecoree.com\/products\/nothung-by-anselm-kiefer-1973-poster","provider":"Wall Deco","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
