A pair of eyes and a mouth float above a field of crosshatching. Jasper Johns' Decoy presents a fragmented face, both familiar and strange. The eyes seem to follow you, while the mouth remains silent, leaving you to wonder what it might say if it could speak. The artwork is rendered in a muted palette of grays and whites, with subtle hints of color peeking through. The crosshatching creates a sense of texture and depth, drawing the eye into the image. The fragmented face is both abstract and representational, inviting contemplation. This print finds its place in a quiet corner, where it can be studied and appreciated. It suits a space dedicated to thought and reflection.
