Two steel plates lean against each other in a corner, forming a precarious balance. This is Richard Serra's Equal Corner Prop Piece, a study in equilibrium and tension. The raw, industrial materiality of the steel contrasts with the simplicity of the composition, creating a visual dialogue between strength and fragility. The artwork's power lies in its stark minimalism. The unadorned steel plates, with their cold, gray surfaces, dominate the scene. The corner where they meet becomes a focal point, drawing the eye to the precise angle of their intersection. The absence of color or embellishment underscores the raw beauty of the materials and their arrangement. This poster brings a slice of contemporary sculpture into modern living spaces. It commands attention in a studio or a minimalist office.
