Mund Mouth Brigitte Bardot's Lips by Gerhard Richter (1963) – Poster

Full, parted lips emerge from a blurred haze of soft grays and whites. This is Mund Mouth Brigitte Bardot S Lips, Gerhard Richter’s 1963 study of a face reduced to its most expressive fragment. The composition dissolves into a mist of muted tones, where charcoal streaks and pale highlights define the curve of the mouth. No sharp edges remain, only a ghostly suggestion of form, as if the image were caught between focus and memory. Richter, working at the height of Photorealism, took a magazine snapshot of Bardot and dragged paint across the surface, erasing detail while preserving essence. The result is less a portrait than a meditation on how little it takes to recognize a legend: the tilt of a lip, the hint of a smile. It lingers because it refuses to give everything away. This art print brings a piece of Richter’s blurred elegance to walls that favor quiet intensity. A Gerhard Richter poster for those who see beauty in the unfinished, a Mund Mouth Brigitte Bardot S Lips wall art for spaces that speak softly.
